Building from the ground up should not mean managing an architect, a designer and a builder who have never spoken to each other.

What new construction with us involves

We run new construction and additions as a single process: one team, one set of drawings, one point of contact. Design happens alongside construction planning rather than being thrown over a wall to a builder afterwards.

That covers detailed pre-construction planning, accurate budgeting and scheduling, permit and inspection coordination, engineering and structural integration, and proactive risk management before it reaches the site.

The design side is included, not billed separately. We plan layout, flow, natural light and aesthetic continuity at the same time as we plan the build, so the house you move into is the house you were shown.

Every project is backed by a one-year labor warranty and handed over with a binder documenting every selection, purchase and manufacturer warranty in the building.

Pre-construction planning

What areas do you serve?

We are based on Falls of Neuse Road in Raleigh and work throughout the Triangle, including Durham, Cary, Chapel Hill, Garner and Wake Forest. We also take projects further out in North Carolina where the scope justifies the travel, including work completed in Louisburg, Rocky Mount and New Bern.

Do you charge separately for design?

No. Professional design is included with your build rather than invoiced as a standalone service. Our designers and our construction team work together from the start, which is what keeps a drawing from becoming something that cannot actually be built for the budget you agreed to.

What does the Hykal process look like?

It starts with a free consultation call, followed by an in-home meeting where we measure and talk through the realities of your space. We then present a full project proposal and adjust the scope with you until the plan and the budget agree. Once you sign, construction begins and we manage it through to the final walkthrough.

Do you handle new construction and additions, or only remodels?

Both. Alongside whole-home and single-room remodels we build custom new construction homes and additions, handling pre-construction planning, budgeting, permits, inspections and structural engineering coordination as part of the same integrated process.

What happens after the project is finished?

You receive a one-year labor warranty and a project binder documenting every selection, purchase and manufacturer warranty in your home. It means that two years from now, when you need the model number of a faucet or the exact paint colour, you are not guessing.

Can you work with me if I only need design help?

Yes. We offer design on its own, covering space planning, 3D renderings, material and finish selections, lighting and appliance placement, and a detailed shopping list. Design-only consultations can be run virtually, so you do not have to be in North Carolina to work with us.
